Trust & Safety

Every piece of the platform — verification, deposits, signed agreements, two-way reviews — exists to make lending expensive gear to someone you just met feel routine.

Verified owners

Phone verification at signup for everyone. Owners earn a “Verified” badge after an ID check — look for it on any listing.

Deposits on every rental

Every kit listing must set a refundable deposit at or above the typical replacement cost of the gear. Terms are shown before you book.

Signed agreements

A platform-provided one-page rental agreement is signed at every handoff, and every booking requires agreeing to the platform Terms.

Reviews both ways

Renters rate kits and owners; owners rate renters. Repeat bad actors get removed from the marketplace.

Messaging on-platform

Booking chat stays on WilderLink, so there’s always a record if anything goes sideways. Campsite WiFi passwords are only ever shared here, after a confirmed booking.

Documented handoffs

The handoff checklist has both parties photograph gear condition at pickup and return — deposits get released quickly because nobody’s arguing from memory.

What we’re not: WilderLink is a venue, not a party to the rental. Owners are responsible for their equipment and service accounts; renters for care and return. Full terms are in our Terms of Service, Rental Agreement Template, Privacy Policy, and Prohibited Use Policy.
